Twins option Thielbar to minors; pitching staff set at 12
The Minnesota Twins have set their pitching staff at 12 after announcing Wednesday that left-handed reliever Caleb Thielbar was optioned to Triple-A Rochester.
On Tuesday, Nick Nelson of Twins Daily wrote that right-hander J.R. Graham was a likely choice over Thielbar for the final spot in the bullpen.
The Twins swiped Graham from the Atlanta Braves in the Rule 5 Draft last year. FanSided called him the "power arm" the Twins have been looking for. His fastball has been clocked in the mid-90s all spring, and he has a nasty slider to boot.
The Twins open the regular season Monday on the road against the Detroit Tigers.
