Twins put Tommy Milone on the disabled list, recall Pat Dean

The Minnesota Twins recalled another one of their young pitching prospects from Triple-A Rochester Friday afternoon after taking another one of their veterans out of the rotation.

The Twins placed Tommy Milone on the 15-day disabled list with biceps tendinitis and recalled lefty Pat Dean.

Milone struggled Thursday night in his start against the Houston Astros, lasting just three innings and giving up five runs on five hits. He is now 3-4 on the year with a 5.68 ERA in 15 games for the Twins this year.

The Star Tribune's LaVelle E. Neal reported that Milone was to undergo an MRI on the shoulder today.

Dean made eight appearances, including six starts, for the Twins earlier in the year. He went 1-3 with a 5.54 ERA in Minnesota. But he did have some success, striking out eight in a strong start against the Mariners in late May.

Dean was also 5-7 with a 5.56 ERA in 16 starts at Triple-A.
