As mentioned previously this week, the Twins have recalled Byron Buxton to the big leagues after a three-game rehab stint at Triple-A Rochester.

Buxton was hitting .387 in July before a groin injury forced him to miss the final 14 games of the month. The 23-year-old hit .500 with a pair of homers during his three-game rehab stint.

Additionally, the Twins called right-handed pitcher Dillon Gee up from Triple-A Rochester and he'll start for the Twins in place of left-hander Jaime Garcia, who was traded to the Yankees on Sunday.

Gee, 31, was 3-1 with a 2.00 ERA in five starts for the Rochester Red Wings. He was designated for assignment by the Rangers and selected in free agency by the Twins about a month ago.

Gee's first start could come Saturday against the Rangers.
