In Florida, a big move concerning the Twins rotation.
Kyle Gibson has been sent to Triple-A Rochester. Gibson -- a 25-year-old righthander recovering from Tommy John surgery (2011) -- was in the hunt to make the starting five this spring.
But that apparently has been put on hold.
Star Tribune Twins writer La Velle E. Neal III says Gibson had fallen behind other starters in training camp, posting a 9.00 ERA in eight innings of work this spring.
Gibson's exit also means Cole De Vries could get another shot at the starting rotation. In four appearances, De Vries has notched seven scorless innings.
