Twins shortstop Eduardo Nunez named to first All-Star Game

Minnesota Twins shortstop Eduardo Nunez is headed to his first All Star Game.

Major League Baseball made the announcement on Tuesday evening during it's program on the MLB Network.

Nunez, who came into Tuesday night's game hitting .315 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs, was the only Twins player named to baseball's mid-summer classic, which will be played on July 12th at San Diego's Petco Park.

Nunez has been Minnesota's most consistent player all season long. After starting the season on the bench, he became red hot once he finally made it into Paul Molitor's lineup on a regular basis.

Nunez was strong during the run-up to Tuesday night's announcement, finishing with a lead-off home run in Chicago and also posting a four-hit effort against Texas on Saturday.
