Twins: Spruce trees won't come back to Target Field in 2013

Still pining away for those spruce trees to make a comeback behind the center field wall at Target Field? Forget about it.
Author:

A few weeks ago, it was rumored that the Twins might do a reversal, and re-plant spruce trees behind the center field wall at Target Field.

Instead, the big news was that drink rails would be added in right field, and some seating would be re-arranged.

So, what about the trees?

According to team president Dave St. Peter, forget about it. The Star Tribune quotes an e-mail he sent out today, saying "There will be no change to the batter's eye, such as the addition of trees."

St. Peter also writes that the club won't tinker with the outfield walls in the off season, and the ballpark dimensions will stay the same.

Final score: Drinkers 1, Tree lovers 0.
