The Twins had the luxury of selecting Royce Lewis with the No. 1 pick in the MLB Draft this summer.

Lewis is off to a hot start, but he's not the only the player in the Twins' 2017 draft class who's put up impressive numbers.

Just check out the how well the team's top five selections have done this season in the minor leagues.

Royce Lewis, SS

  • Batting .385 at Class A Cedar Rapids.
  • Between Cedar Rapids and the Rookie League, Lewis has four home runs, 25 RBI, 17 stolen bases and 46 runs scored in 45 games

Brent Rooker, LF

  • Rooker has 15 home runs between Class A-Advanced Fort Myers and the Rookie League.
  • In 32 games at Fort Myers, Rooker is batting .268 with 28 RBI.

Landon Leach, P

  • In four games (1 start) in the Rookie League, Leach has an ERA of 4.22 with 10 strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched.
  • Opponents are hitting .242 against him.

Blayne Enlow, P

  • In five games (1 start) in the Rookie League, Enlow has allowed just two earned runs with 18 strikeouts.
  • Next to no one is getting on base against the 18-year-old, either. He's surrendered just seven hits and three walks in 18 innings this season.

Charlie Barnes, P

  • After being promoted to Cedar Rapids, Barnes has an ERA of 3.18 in four starts.
  • The 21-year-old has struck out 39 batters in 39.2 innings in the minors this season.

Obviously these players have a long way to go before they make their MLB debuts – but three of these top five picks are under the age of 19.

So the fact they're putting up impressive numbers at such a young age should be encouraging for the organization.

Meanwhile, Rooker, the team's second selection in the draft, might end up being the first player to make his debut given the 22-year-old's insane power numbers.
