After making a trade with the Diamondbacks on Tuesday the Twins stayed active Wednesday by dealing outfielder Aaron Hicks to the Yankees for catcher John Ryan Murphy.

Trading Hicks likely means the Twins plan to give the opening day center field job to top prospect Byron Buxton.

Murphy, 24, was New York's backup catcher and doesn't project to be an above-average hitter, according to Hardball Talk's Aaron Gleeman. Murphy has hit .267 with 4 homers and 24 RBIs in 115 games over the last three seasons in New York.
