Twins trade J.R. Graham to Yankees

On Saturday morning the Twins announced J.R. Graham was traded to the New York Yankees for a player to be named later or cash.

He stayed with the big league club in 2015 but failed to make the team this year out of spring training. Instead the Twins called him up for one game but was DFA'd shortly after.

Graham was acquired by the Twins in the Rule 5 draft from the Atlanta Braves in 2015.

When a player is taken in the Rule 5 draft they have to stay on the 25-man roster all year, or they run the risk of putting him through waivers or sending him back to his original team.
