The Minnesota Twins will be among the teams scouting Tim Tebow at his workout next week, BringMeTheNews has learned.
According to Adam Schefter, Tebow's workout as a hitter and outfielder will take place in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Aug. 30 – and about 20 teams (so far) will be there to watch the former NFL quarterback try to impress baseball scouts.
USA Today says the Twins make sense for Tebow simply because they have a minor-league affiliate in Fort Myers, Florida, which could draw a lot of Florida Gator fans who still follow Tebow from his Heisman Trophy-winning days in college. The Twins also hold spring training in Fort Myers.
Tebow hasn't played organized baseball since he was in high school, but the L.A. Times reports that Tebow would have been drafted out of high school as a junior had he entered his name into the draft.
The Pioneer Press has a report that says the St. Paul Saints might try to sign Tebow if MLB clubs pass on him.
