The Minnesota Twins will face the Washington Nationals in a day-night doubleheader Sunday in D.C. because of rain Friday night.
Lefty Scott Diamond, who is unbeaten on the road this season, will take the mound for the Twins in the first contest, MLB.com reports. He's coming off a 10-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners at Target Field a week ago.
The Nats will give the ball to Nathan Karns, who is making his third major league start.
The Star Tribune notes Joe Mauer and Josh Willingham will sit out the first game. The Twins also recalled outfielder Chris Colabello from Triple-A Rochester under a baseball rule allowing a one-day roster expansion for doubleheaders.
The Twins held on to a 4-3 victory Saturday afternoon after Ryan Doumit drove in the winning run in the top of the 11th inning.
