Tyus Jones, Apple Valley on ESPN2 tonight

Good luck finding a parking spot for tonight's high school basketball game between Apple Valley and Chicago's Whitney Young High School.

The game will be televised on ESPN2, so if you can't find a spot in the Apple Valley H.S. parking lot... or anywhere within a country mile for that matter, you can fire it up on the TV. It's all part of the ESPN High School Basketball Showcase.

The game is drawing national attention because it features top national players Tyus Jones of Apple Valley and Jahlil Okafor of Whitney Young.

Jones and Okafor, who are great friends, announced simultaneously last month that they will attend Duke University next fall.

“It’s good for Minnesota and our high school to get a chance to have a game on ESPN. It’s a great opportunity,” Jones told the Star Tribune. “It’ll be really fun, really exciting, and there will be a lot of energy.”

ESPN ranks Okafor No. 1 and Jones No. 4 in the Class of 2014 basketball recruits.

According to the Pioneer Press, the Apple Valley gymnasium will be jam-packed with about 1,800 people watching the game.

Jones led defending 4A champion Apple Valley to a 73-63 win over defending 3A champ DeLaSalle on Saturday night. DeLaSalle was without Stanford recruit Reid Travis, who is recovering from a stress fracture in his foot.

Jones finished the game with 28 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.

Along with the win over DeLaSalle, the top-ranked Eagles have victories over Edina, Minnetonka and Prior Lake.
