U of M hockey no longer winless in 2012

The No. 5 Gophers had a 4-0 lead in the second period in Grand Forks Saturday night. Minnesota held on to it for a 6-2 victory over the University of North Dakota. Minnesota is back at home Friday to host Colorado College.

Gophers' Larson has broken wrist

Minnesota Gophers senior forward Nick Larson is out indefinitely because a broken wrist. He suffered the injury during the first period of Minnesota's 6-2 win over North Dakota Saturday night. The Gophers host Colorado College at Mariucci Arena this weekend.

2012 Gophers' hockey schedule released

Next season will be the Gopher men's hockey team's last season in the WCHA, and their schedule is looking very glamorous. Minnesota plays 36 games, 20 at at Mariucci Arena. Two of the non-conference home games are against Notre Dame and defending national champion, Boston College.

Dungy doesn't want U of M AD job

When Joel Maturi retires from his post as athletics director at the U of M this summer, he won't be replaced by former Gophers football star Tony Dungy. The Super Bowl winning coach says he is "enjoying life" as an NFL analyst on NBC, and "he appreciates not being tied to a weekly schedule."
