University of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez will be at the college for at least another five years after getting a new contract and raise, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

The five-year deal means the legendary former coach of the Wisconsin Badgers football team will remain as the athletic director through 2018.

Alvarez also got a raise of $25,000 a year, putting him at $1.05 million for 2013-14 -- keeping him as one of the highest-paid athletic directors in the country.

Of that amount, the university will reportedly pay him $500,000 and the rest is coming from gift funds at the UW Foundation.

Alvarez, coached the Badgers from 1990 to 2005. He's entering his 10th year as athletic director of the school, and spent the first two in the dual role of coach and athletic director.

At 66, Alvarez said retirement wasn't on his agenda, the State Journal reported.

"I haven't thought about retirement," Alvarez said.
