Contest coming to Minneapolis gives filmmakers 48 hours to make movies

A unique movie contest is coming to the Twin Cities. The 48 Hour Film Project will give filmmakers two days to write, cast, film and edit a movie. To start, the registered teams will each be given a movie genre, character, prop and line of dialogue at the Riverview Theater in Minneapolis on June 8. The final products will screen at the venue June 12-14.

Lehman named Senior Player of the Year

Minnesota native Tom Lehman was named 2011 Senior Player of the Year by the Golf Writers Association of America on Thursday. Lehman had 12 top-ten finishes -- including three wins -- to lead the Champions Tour money list.
