Russia's Ilya Zakharov won the gold medal in London in 2012, but the defending Olympic champion was knocked out of Rio in the semifinals after belly flopping his way to a zero.

Zakharov racked up 555.90 points en route to gold in 2012, but he totaled just 345.60 points – 210.30 fewer – this year, according to NBC. He finished last and now he has to go home.

Two Americans, Mike Hixon and Kristian Ipsen, advanced to the 3-meter springboard final.
