Video games: Adrian Peterson cruises toward 'Madden 25' cover

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is in the Final Four.

After trouncing Robert Griffin III in an ESPN/EA Sports online vote to see who will grace the cover of "Madden 25," AP now faces Houston's Arian Foster in the finals of the "New School" division.

In the "Old School" division, Barry Sanders faces Jerry Rice.

Whoever survives the popularity contest will be featured on the planet's most popular football video game.

For retired players, it sounds great.

For current players, there is a Sports-Illustrated-cover-like curse to contend with.

According to the Pioneer Press, some suffered severe injuries after making the Madden cover, including 1999's Garrison Hearst and 2004's Michael Vick.

The game goes on sale Aug. 27.
