Vikes won't blow this one: Dome to be dismantled piece-by-piece


We won't be seeing this in downtown Minneapolis:

Instead, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, according to the Star-Tribune, will be demolished piece-by-piece, as the state prepares the way for a new Vikings stadium.

A big implosion was voted out by Mortenson Construction because the stadium is too close to other downtown businesses.

Depending on the Vikings' playoff fortunes this year, the gradual tear-down could start as early as February.
