The Minnesota Vikings will report to Mankato for a 50th year of training camp on Saturday, July 25, and one day later head coach Mike Zimmer will lead his squad onto the practice fields for two weeks of intense football.
The Vikings on Tuesday announced the full training camp schedule. You can check it out on the team's website.
Always a popular exhibition for fans are the evening practices/scrimmages at Blakeslee Stadium. The first will be Saturday, Aug. 1, featuring player introductions and fireworks after the practice. The second is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Star Tribune notes that there are 14 days of training camp, all of which are open to the public. Most days will feature special teams periods in the morning walk-through, and padded practices in the afternoons.
Mankato will wave goodbye to the Vikings when they break camp Aug. 14. Tucked between the start and finish of camp is the Aug. 9 preseason Hall of Fame Game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
That game is just 60 days from today.
