Drafted by the Vikings as linebacker, Doleman switched to defensive end and went on to a 150-sack career. Doleman spent his 15-year career with the Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers.

Doleman elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame, Carter falls short

The National Football League announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2012 Saturday afternoon. Former Vikings defensive end and linebacker Chris Doleman is one of the six players selected for induction. He is the 11th Viking to be enshrined in Canton, Ohio. Former Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter was also eligible, but was denied until at least next year.
