Former Vikings defensive end Chris Doleman was the third of six players inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame Saturday in Canton, Ohio. Drafted by the Vikings as linebacker, Doleman switched to defensive end and went on to a 150-sack career. Doleman spent his 15-year career with the Vikings, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers.

The National Football League announced its Hall of Fame Class of 2012 Saturday afternoon. Former Vikings defensive end and linebacker Chris Doleman is one of the six players selected for induction. He is the 11th Viking to be enshrined in Canton, Ohio. Former Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter was also eligible, but was denied until at least next year.

Doleman to enter Vikings' Ring of Honor

He’s not in the NFL hall of fame yet, but the Vikings say former defensive end Chris Doleman will join the teams’ Ring of Honor. Doleman, an eight-time Pro Bowler, is fourth on the all-time sacks list. He’ll be honored before the Packers game on October 23.
