Vikings lose to Packers in close game, 24-21

The border battle between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers lived up to its hype Sunday afternoon, but the Packers had just a little more gas as they won 24-21 Sunday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Eddie Lacy rushed for 125 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns for the Packers, and Aaron Rodgers threw two more TD passes for the Packers, (8-3), the Associated Press reports.

The Packers led, 14-10, at halftime after a 1-yard touchdown run by Lacy and a Rodgers touchdown pass at the goal line.

The Vikings scored a touchdown early in the second quarter when Teddy Bridgewater threw a scoring pass to Charles Johnson, according to the Star Tribune.

Bridgewater's performance was shaky in the first half. He had several incompletions on overthrown passes, and he threw one interception. He was better later in the game and was 21 for 37 for 210 yards, with two TD passes, according to the Star Tribune.

The Packers led the entire game but it was close most of the way; they had a 17-13 lead halfway into the fourth quarter, but scored a touchdown on a 15-yard shovel pass from Rodgers to Lacy to make the score 24-13.

The Vikings came back and scored their own touchdown with 3:23 to go in the game, on a pass from Bridgewater to Greg Jennings, and completed the two-point conversion to come within three points at 24-21.

It was the first touchdown pass that Jennings has caught against the Packers, his former team.

The Packers got the ball back after the Jennings score and ran out the clock to preserve the victory.

The Vikings drop to 4-7 on the season. The win moves the Packers past Detroit into sole possession of first place in the NFC North, since the Lions lost to the Patriots Sunday.
