Ponder says Harvin 'ready to go' for Vikings training camp

Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder appears to have the inside track on what's going on with his disgruntled teammate, Percy Harvin. Ponder told the Pioneer Press Saturday that he's been in touch with Harvin through texts. Ponder said while he's never brought up Harvin's problems with the organization, he knows the wide receiver is preparing for this week's training camp and is "ready to go."

It looks like the Vikings won’t be in the hunt to sign Peyton Manning. The Pioneer Press is quoting sources who say the team has no interest in bringing in the 14-year Super Bowl-winning veteran. The Vikes say they’ll move ahead with Christian Ponder and Joe Webb instead.

Adrian Peterson sat out Wednesday's practice with an ankle injury. The NFL's leading rusher tweaked his ankle during Sunday's loss to the Packers. Percy Harvin, Visanthe Shiancoe, and Anthony Herrera also missed practice.
