View from the end zone:

Here at BringMeTheNews, something a bit different as we take in the Vikings game at Mall of America Field.

In this blog, we'll let you know what's happened just as if you were sitting in section 123, in the corner of the south end zone.

11:44: Awesome picture of someone called "Viking's Guy." He painted himself purple and put on some pants that made him look like a goat. Still, very impressive.

11:51: Tampa Bay hits the field. Roundly booed.

11:53: Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song." Ears thumping. Mind-boggling loud. Defense introduced..E.J. Henderson starting. Jared Allen gets loudest pop.

12:02: Vikes kick off to Tampa, game on!

12:03: First play from scrimmage...Jared Allen sack. Crowd in lather.

12:12: Best tweet so far, from StarTribunes' Jim Souhan: "Funny, every Vikings play worked til they threw to Berrian. And now, no chance of a new stadium."

12:20:In case you're wondering: $11 for a 24-ounce Coronoa. $30 for a infant onesie/bib set at the souvenir stand.

12:24: Just handed Vikings media guide. On Page 4: "Vikings Stadium Vision," complete with color photos.

12:30: VIKINGS 7, BUCCANEERS 0 -- Vikes drive 90 yards for a TD. Adrian Peterson's 53rd rushing touchdown -- a Vikings record.

12:38: No love for Bernard Berrian in this tweet from Vikes Princess: "Way to go Berrian - great effort on that TD drive. Wait. You had nothing to do with it. #disregard"

12:43: Meanwhile...In Seattle...We hear that Sidney Rice might have a torn labrum and is likely out for the foreseeable future.

12:53: VIKINGS 10, BUCCANEERS 0 -- Longwell hits a 22-yard field goal after a long Vikings drive stalls inside the five-yard line.

1:03: More anti-Berrianisms, this time a tweet from KARE's Eric Perkins: "Bernard Berrian is to the Vikings what Larry King is to Cirque du Soleil." Funny.

1:11: VIKINGS 17, BUCCANEERS 0 -- Adrian Peterson makes it look super-easy as he glides into the end-zone on a 9-yard TD run.

1:17: And just before the half, here's your who-did-the-Twins-just-shut-down-for-the-season update. Hint: He's Canadian.

1:18: Halftime. Vikes are crushing the competition. Everyone here is very happy.

1:34: Just handed First Half Summary. Big stat: Total Net Yards: Vikings 284, Bucs 62. McNabb at the half? Already 114 more passing yards than last week.

1:45: VIKINGS 17, BUCCANEERS 7: Tampa goes 44 yards in two plays, capped with a 27-yard TD by LeGarrette Blount.

1:48: Mood in bright dome darkens. Fan says: "This looks like a Brad Childress team." Mood gets uglier when Tampa Bay recovers onside kick.

1:53: Sea of purple happy again when Husain Abdullah picks off Freeman pass in end zone.

1:55: Bernard Berrian catches a 17-yard pass! Take that haters!

1:58: Proof that sports writers look over each other's shoulder when tweeting:

From KFAN's A.J. Monsour: "We have a Bernard Berrian sighting! 14-yard reception for a 1st down."

And from FSN's Tyler Mason: "We have a Bernard Berrian sighting. Catches his first pass of the day for a 17-yard play." Busted!

2:07: VIKINGS 17, BUCCANEERS 10 -- Bucs kick 36-yard field goal to creep closer.

2:10:In case you're wondering: Melissa named Vikings' cheerleader of game. Not sure how they're picked. Assume she's caught more passes than Berrian. Kidding!

2:26: VIKINGS 20, BUCCANEERS 10 -- Vikings stretch lead to 10 after 29-yard Longwell FG.

2:35: VIKINGS 20, BUCCANEERS 17 -- It's a 25-yard strike to Arrelious Benn as Tampa Bay gets to within three points.

2:45: At two-minute warning, Bucs driving -- Vikings in danger of blowing what was a 17-point lead.

2:50: BUCCANEERS 24, Vikings 20 -- LeGarrette Blount runs one in from the four-yard-line. Tampa Bay takes the lead with :31 left in the game.

2:58: Glum purple fans file out of stands. Up next: A resurgent Detroit Lions club comes to town next week. The Vikings start 2011 with an 0-2 mark.
