Here at BringMeTheNews, it's Game 2 at Mall of America Field.

In this blog, we'll let you know what's happened just as if you were sitting in section 123, in the corner of the south end zone.

We'll also (hopefully) get a few words of wisdom from KFAN's Tiny Joe Nelson, who is working in the radio booth with the voice of the Vikings, Paul Allen.

In this very classy photo taken seconds ago, Joe is on the left, eyes closed, mouth open. P.A. looks professional. Expert photographer thought about taking another one, but decided Tiny Joe looked just fine. We hope his mother doesn't see this:

11:43: Already overheard in the press box: "Who will be on the sidelines first, Donovan McNabb or Michelle Bachmann?"

11:51: Upstart Lions jog onto field, roundly booed by somewhat-frightened fans.

12:02: Harvin back to get the kick. He takes it out to the 23, and the road to Win 1 begins.

12:11: Vikings 3, Lions 0: Vikings' opening drive stalls inside red zone, settle for Longwell FG.

12:17: Crowd goes nuts when Jared Allen sacks Stafford to stop Lions. The first sack Detroit has allowed all year.

12:27: Vikings 6, Lions 0: A 41-yard FG makes it a six point lead for the purple, but nervous fans thirst for touchdown.

12:35: Huge sack by Robison ends Detroit's second drive. Noise inside Dome louder than Missoni knock-offs at Target.

12:40: Interesting tweet from KFAN: "Greg Coleman confirms Vikings are having issues with headsets getting calls into player captains."

12:41: Funny tweet from StarTrib's Souhan: "Geez, the Lions are stupid. Late hit on Peterson for no reason. This is how you stink for two decades."

12:46: In case you were wondering: Vikings cheerleaders calendars: $20. Part of the proceeds go to Vikings Children's Fund. They were selling them outside the stadium before the game, but wearing a lot more clothing than in the photo below:

12:55: Just handed First Quarter Summary in press box. Best stat so far: Lions -7 net yards in first 15 minutes.

12:59: WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE RADIO BOOTH -- Text to BMTN from KFAN's "Tiny Joe Nelson": "PA really happy with the pass rush and the way they are using Everson Griffen as a stand up linebacker on 3rd downs."

1:05: Vikings 13, Lions 0 -- Adrian Peterson dances into the end zone on a 6-yard scamper.

1:12 WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE RADIO BOOTH -- Text to BMTN from KFAN's "Tiny Joe Nelson": Pete Bercich in booth on good first half: "We still have a second half to play, so we'll see."

1:19: In the same vein, another zinger tweet from Strib's Souhan: "The Vikings haven't dominated an opponent like this...since the first half last week."

1:21: Stafford sacked again. Ear-splitting just-before-halftime noise. Guy right in front of press box, however, is wearing an ironed Jared Allen jersey. Ironed? He may have to be shown the door.

1:24: Big 53-yard return from Rochester's Marcus Sherels. Ball at Lions' 13.

1:27: Vikings 20, Lions 0 -- It's now a 20-point lead as McNabb hits TE Schianco in end zone.

1:33: At the half, terrific tweet from AP's Dave Campbell: "Cumulative first half scores for Vikings this year through three games: Vikings 54, Opponents 7."

1:49: Just handed First Half Summary. Best stat: Lions 50 net yards on 25 plays.

1:58: Vikings 20, Lions 7 -- Here they come. The Lions get on the scoreboard with a 32-yard Matthew Stafford to Calvin Johnson touchdown pass.

2:02: WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE RADIO BOOTH -- Text to BMTN from KFAN's "Tiny Joe Nelson": "Bercich says Vikes must answer and put points on the board if they ever want to overcome their second half problems."

2:03: Vikings punt to Detroit with 8:12 left in the third quarter. Crowd loudly boos offense for the first time today.

2:12: Vikings 20, Lions 10 -- Vikings defense keeps Lions out of end zone after a first-and-goal at the 2-yard-line. Detroit settles for FG.

2:24: Mind-numbing anxiety from the crowd as Jahvid Best takes it to the Minnesota 5-yard-line.

2:25: Alissa named Vikings' Cheerleader of the Game. Congrats, now get out there and stop the Lions on this drive.

2:28: Vikings 20, Lions 17 -- The lead in down to three as Stafford and Johnson hook up for another TD.

2:30: Crowd back into it after a 68-yard return from Lorenzo (why isn't Harvin in there) Booker.

2:36: Lions stop Vikes on fourth-and-inches. Adrian Peterson seen nowhere near ball.

2:48: Vikings 20, Lions 20 -- Jason Hanson kicks 50-yard field goal as Minnesota's 20-point lead is erased.

2:54: Overheard in the crowd. "These guys suck." We're sure he was talking about the Twins.

2:58: Lions 23, Vikings 20 -- The comeback is complete as the Lions jump ahead of the Vikes with a 40-yard FG from Hanson.

3:08: Vikings 23, Lions 23 -- Clutch 49-yarder from Longwell knots it up again. 1:11 left.

3:12: Jared Allen ropes up Stafford at the 3-yard-line with huge sack.

3:19: Overtime! Advantage Lions as they win the toss.

3:28: Lions 26, Vikings 23 -- An overtime mind-boggler as Jason Hanson hits a 32-yard FG to send the Vikings to 0-3 on the year.

3:39: Inflatable Vikings-guy outside dome depicts on jersey exactly how many wins purple have this season:
