Former Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe signed with the New England Patriots on Tuesday. He spent the past five season in Minnesota, catching 36 passes for over 400 yards last year. Shiancoe's deal is for one-year worth $1.2-million. Only $400-thousand of the deal is guaranteed, with $800-thousand in incentives.

Meanwhile, former Vikings middle linebacker E.J. Henderson is still searching for a new team. He tells CBS that he's "ready to play" and "waiting for the call." Henderson still lives in Minnesota, and "would love to retire here."

Shiancoe expected to visit Seattle

NFL Network's Steve Wyche reports that tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is expected to make a free agent visit to Seattle within a few days. If Shiancoe signs with the Seahawks, he'll be reunited with former Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who helped Shiancoe to a career year in 2009.

Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe isn't happy with some of his teammates. Shiancoe says "some guys hung it up" after the Vikings fell behind the Saints during Sunday's game. He didn't name names, but said it was a "small handful" of guys and he plans on addressing the issue with each player personally.

E.J. Henderson misses practice

Yesterday the Vikings placed four starters on injured reserve. Apparently they haven't struck the bottom yet because middle linebacker E.J. Henderson missed practice today because of a shoulder injury.
