'Voice' singer Nicholas David to sound Gjallarhorn at Vikings-Packers game

Eagan singer and "The Voice" top-three finalist Nicholas David is going to get a chance to sound off at the Vikings-Packers game Sunday, the Pioneer Press reports.

David, who finished third in the NBC reality competition, has been chosen by the Vikings to sound the Gjallarhorn before the game.

The Eagan native, whose real name is Nicholas David Mrozinski, was coached by hit singer CeeLo Green on the show.

David wowed Green and other "Voice" coaches Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine throughout the final rounds of the competition, as he gave soulful spins to such classic songs as Ben E. King's "Stand By Me," Hall & Oates' "She's Gone," Barry White's "You're the First, the Last, My Everything," Bill Withers' "Lean On Me" and Judy Garland's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

David also electrified the crowd with his rendition of the Billy Preston-penned Joe Cocker hit "You Are So Beautiful," which he sang to his tearful fiancee, Krista.

The Minnesota musician isn't the only celebrity from the area to get a chance to sound the Gjallarhorn.

"Transformers" star Josh Duhamel, a Minot, N.D., native who's a fan of Minnesota sports, was the honorary hornblower before the Vikings' upset win over the 49ers in September.
