Minnesota native and defending Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn competed on the slopes this weekend for the first time since tearing her ACL and breaking her leg in a crash at the World Championships in February.

In said competition, a World Cup weekend at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada, Vonn finished fifth in Super-G after concluding the downhill Saturday with an 11th-place result.

Vonn sounded enthused after finishing up today at a place the skiing community has dubbed "Lake Lindsey" for her 14 World Cup wins at the hill, saying the competition was a "big step" in her quest to defend her gold medal in the downhill in February's Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia.

Vonn also said she is "ready for Sochi" after competing this weekend, adding "I know I can win again."
