If ever there was a Twins player who deserved to be an All-Star it is Brian Dozier in 2015, but following Friday's vote neither the outstanding efforts of Dozier or a spirited fan campaign were able to get him in.

That means despite hitting 18 home runs, with 45 RBIs while scoring 65 runs – more than any other American League second baseman – Dozier will not be playing in next week's All-Star Game in Cincinnati.

His 47 extra base hits is the most by a Twins player in the history of the organization prior to the All-Star break.

Dozier's fans and teammates went to work trying to get him elected, which culminated in a massive Twitter effort throughout the day on Friday, with #votedozier trending number one in the Twin Cities.

Dozier came into the day trailing Mike Moustakas in the final vote for the American League, and despite the valiant effort Moustakas was able to hold Dozier off.
