Eduardo Escobar hit a double down the right field line with a full count in the bottom of the ninth to score Kurt Suzuki and give the Twins a 3-2 walk off victory over Texas Tuesday night at Target Field.
Escobar's double completed a comeback for the Twins, who were held to three hits through the first six innings. It was an important victory for Minnesota, who went 1-6 on their road trip last week and had fallen four games back in the American League Wild Card race.

Texas' only runs scored on a two-run homer from Elvis Andrus in the second inning to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead on Twins starter Kyle Gibson.
Gibson kept battling though, keeping the Twins in the game by not allowing anything else in his six innings of work. He gave up the two runs on seven hits, but also struck out seven.
Mauer finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, while Sano was also 2-for-3 on the night.
Glen Perkins (1-3) pitched a scoreless top of the ninth to keep the score tied and picked up the victory following Escobar's game-winning double.
Mike Pelfrey starts for the Twins Wednesday night against Rangers righty Nick Martinez.
