Want to work in a $1B stadium? 2,500 jobs open at Vikings' new home

Your taxes are paying for about half of it, and now Minnesotans are being offered the chance to make some of it back by taking on part-time work at U.S. Bank Stadium.

The Minnesota Sports Facility Authority announced Wednesday it has 2,500 part-time jobs available to ensure the stadium is staffed for Vikings games and other major events.

Workers will be employed by several of the stadium's "partners," which include SMG, Aramark, and Main Gate Retail, as well as other suppliers taken on to provide security and cleaning services for the stadium.

"Over 2,500 jobs will be available in the areas of guest experience, event security, housekeeping, point-of-sale, retail, catering and food service," the ad says.

A hiring fair will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on April 26-28 to help find the staff, with those interested encouraged to apply for the event as candidates need to be pre-screened in advance of the fair.

"These new employees will become the face of U.S. Bank Stadium’s Minnesota hospitality,” Michele Kelm-Helgen, chair of the authority, told WCCO. "There will be hundreds of public events in addition to Vikings games, and they create significant employment opportunities from guest services, to concessions, security and retail."
