Gophers running back Shannon Brooks is a cool dude.

The junior from Georgia spent some time with the One Hunnit Podcastfollowing Tuesday's practice.

Things that stood out:

  1. Brooks is stacked. Dude is all muscle.
  2. He said they'll have a third helmet this year, a white one.
  3. He's 100% bought in to Coach Fleck's "Row the Boat" philosophy.
  4. Brooks doesn't care that USA Today predicted a 4-8 season for the Gophers.
  5. He's never heard "Body Like A Back Road" by Sam Hunt.
  6. He played high school football against Georgia star running back Nick Chubb.
  7. Brooks refuses to go storm chasing with Joe.

Brooks on USA Today's prediction:

"That's the thing that he taught us coming in. A lot of people are going to say different things, a lot of outsiders are going to say a lot of things. But most important, is the team keeps focused on keeps their head on their shoulders - don't worry about outside factors. Just worry about what we're doing as a team to get better so we can grow together as one unit."
