Tied 2-2 with under 20 seconds left in overtime, Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon picked Brent Burns' pocket deep in the Sharks zone, fed a pass to Jason Zucker who elected not to shoot, and instead pass back to Spurgeon for the wide open net and the game winner.

How they got there

Playing a third game in four nights, all of the variables were begging the Wild to get pounded by the Sharks on Sunday night, especially after going down 2-0 in the second period.

But quit they did not.

The Wild came out firing after that lethargic first period, peppering Sharks goalie Martin Jones with 19 shots in the second period, and finally getting one past him when Spurgeon's shot was deflected by Matt Cullen to make it a 2-1 game.

Later, with just 4:44 left in the third period, the Wild won a key draw in the offensive zone and Eric Staal made the Sharks pay with a beautiful wrap-around goal – his 30th of the season.

That's four straight wins for Minnesota, who are 7-1-2 in their last ten games.

The Wild are up to 77 points on the season, good for third in the Central Division and just six points behind Winnipeg for the third most points in the Western Conference.

Up next, the Wild host the reeling St. Louis Blues on Tuesday.
