Ballplayers are usually happy after they hit a home run.

Dee Gordon of the Miami Marlins was weeping when he touched home plate and made his way to the dugout Monday night.

It was the Marlins' first game since the weekend death of their top pitcher, Jose Fernandez in a boating accident.

Fernandez, 24, died along with two other men when their boat struck the rocks of a jetty near Miami Beach early Sunday.

Sunday's game was canceled and made up on Monday, with every Marlins player wearing Frenandez's number 16 on their uniform.

Gordon was the first batter for the Marlins. Here's what happened:
