Whalen, Augustus power Lynx past Mercury


Lindsay Whalen scored 18 points, and Seimone Augustus added 16 more to push the Minnesota Lynx past Phoenix, 81-69, today at Target Center.

Minnesota (14-3), enters the WNBA All-Star break with the league's best record, as it wrapped up the first half of the schedule.

The victory, the seventh-straight for the Lynx, was also Minnesota's 16th straight at home and 10 straight against the Mercury.

Saturday's All-Star game will feature four Lynx players: starters Augustus and Maya Moore, along with reserves Whalen and Rebekkah Brunson.
