What's will you find at the Super Bowl Experience in Minneapolis?

The NFL theme park will open at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Saturday.

Super Bowl week really kicks up a notch on Saturday when the Super Bowl Experience opens at the Minneapolis Convention Center.

It will see a football theme park take over the convention center's sprawling exhibition space, as the Twin Cities welcomes tens of thousands of fans to town for Super Bowl week.

But unlike the free Super Bowl Live festival on Nicollet Mall (which is a separate event), you'll have to pay for tickets to the Super Bowl Experience.

So if you're planning a trip to downtown Minneapolis over the next week, here's what you can expect:

What's inside?

Pretty much everything a football fan needs.

The event is operated by the NFL, which is laying on a smorgasbord of activities for kids and adults, appearances from football stars, and – obviously – many opportunities to buy NFL merchandise.

Attractions include:

– A 40-yard dash and vertical jump against NFL players on LED screens.

– Autograph signings by NFL players and legends.

– Youth football clinics.

– A wide variety of interactive games.

– A virtual reality NFL experience.

– A Super Bowl rings display.

– NFL flag clinics.

– A chance to take a photo with the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

This video from last year's experience will give you an idea of what else you'll find.

When does it open?

  • Saturday, Jan. 27: 10AM – 10PM
  • Sunday, Jan. 28: 10AM – 8PM
  • Monday, Jan. 29: 3PM – 8PM
  • Tuesday, Jan. 30: 3PM – 8PM
  • Wednesday, Jan. 31: 3PM – 10PM
  • Thursday, Feb. 1: 10AM – 10PM
  • Friday, Feb. 2: 10AM – 10PM
  • Saturday, Feb. 3: 10AM – 8PM

What does it cost?

Regular tickets cost $25 for children 12 and under and $35 for everyone else. You can order tickets here from Ticketmaster.

You can get a SBXTRA fast pass, which costs $55 for both children and adults and gives you priority access.

Unfortunately, all of these have sold out, so the only chance you'll have of getting your hands on one is by going to the box office at the convention center an hour before the event opens for the day.
