The White Sox topped the Twins, 4-2 in the middle game of a three-game series at Target Field Tuesday night.

Jake Peavy was the story of the game. The Sox right-hander allowed just two runs on five hits in seven innings, improving to 5-1 with the win.

Kevin Correia pitched well for the Twins, but he took the loss after giving up a pair of runs in the seventh inning.

Tyler Flowers doubled off Correia to give the Sox a 3-2 to lead. Flower would later score on a single by Alexi Ramirez, giving Chicago a two run lead.

Chicago started the scoring with back-to-back home runs from Adam Dunn and Dayan Viciedo in the top of the second inning to take an early 2-0 lead.

Minnesota chipped away with a run-scoring single from Oswaldo Arcia in the fifth and a game-tying RBI single from Trevor Plouffe in the sixth, but Chicago scored the two runs in the seventh to reclaim the lead.

Justin Morneau went 2-4 to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Joe Mauer went 1-4 to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.

Game three of the series is back at Target Field Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. Mike Pelfrey will start for the Twins against Chicago's Dylan Axelrod.
