Who's next? Flip? Shaka?


With word that Tubby Smith has been fired as the University of Minnesota's men's basketball coach, maroon and gold diehards are wondering who will take his place.

A few observers had their lists ready the second Smith was dismissed.

From the DailyGopher.com, the list is broken into three tiers, with VCU's Shaka Smart and former Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders at the top.

The GopherHole.com has its list as well -- a Top 10 list -- which also includes Arizona state assistant Eric Musselman, son of former Gophers and Wolves coach Bill Musselman.

Star Tribune blogger Nadine Babu, who first reported Smith had been released, says naming his replacement might not come right away:
