Wilcox; Gophers shut out Spartans

The Minnesota Gopher hockey team beat Michigan State 1-0 on Saturday night, at Mariucci Arena.

After splitting points with the Spartans on Friday, the Gophers picked up all three points with the victory on Saturday, according to the Star Tribune.

The Gophers only goal occurred on a scramble in front of the net.

Kyle Rau scored the game's only goal at the 6:44 mark of the first period. Mike Reilly and Hudson Fasching each picked up assists on the goal.

The Gophers controlled the ice, outshooting the Spartans 38-19.

Neither team converted on a power play on the night, the Gophers were 0-3 with the advantage, while the Spartans were 0-2.

Adam Wilcox stopped all 19 shots he faced. Michigan State's Jake Hildebrand made 37 saves.
