Minnesota's Kyle Brodziak scored a third-period breakaway goal against the Stars to force overtime Saturday night in Dallas. Niklas Backstrom had 33 saves through overtime, but was beaten twice in the shootout to give the Stars (27-22-2) their 2-1 victory. The Wild (25-19-8) will wrap up their three-game road trip on Tuesday in Columbus.

Nashville nips Wild, 2-1 in shootout

The Minnesota Wild went to its fourth straight overtime game Thursday night, but lost in a shootout, 2-1 in Nashville. Dany Heatley scored his team-leading 23rd goal for the Wild. Just two games remain, the Wild hosts Chicago Thursday and Phoenix on Saturday.

The Wild could have easily folded after going down 2-0 to the Blackhawks a night after losing a hard-fought game in Winnipeg, but rallied twice and earned one point in a 4-3 shootout loss to Chicago. Kyle Brodziak, Matt Cullen and Mikko Koivu scored for Minnesota.

The Minnesota Wild failed to push its winning streak to two games as they were pounded by the Blackhawks 5-2 Thursday night in Chicago. Three goals in the second period proved to be too much for the Wild, who received goals from Devin Setoguchi and Kyle Brodziak.
