Wild can't solve Backstrom in regular season finale

Calgary Flames 2

Minnesota Wild 1

Minnesota finished their regular season with a 38-33-11 record after a 2-1 loss to the Flames Saturday night.

Minnesota pounded out 36 shots but ran into a brick wall in Niklas Backstrom. Something that hasn't been said in many years.

1. Another loss

Minnesota closes out their regular season on a five game losing streak. Despite already being in the postseason, the Wild could not figure out lowly Flames who were eliminated from post season play a week ago.

2. Backstrom leaves everything on the ice

The Minnesota Wild traded their franchise leader in just about every goaltending statistic to Calgary at the deadline. Many have speculated if this will be it for Backstrom with his injury history and age working against him.

If Backstrom indeed hangs it up, he picked a great game to end his career on. Minnesota had 31 shots on net through two periods alone and he allowed just one goal.

3. Dalpe scores his first goal with Minnesota

The lone goal for the Wild came off the stick of Zac Dalpe, his first goal with the Wild since being recalled on April 4th.
