Wild come from behind to defeat Stars 2-1

Author:

The Minnesota Wild have struggled against the Stars on the road over the past few seasons, winning only five times in its last 27 games in Dallas. But it was a different story Saturday afternoon as Minnesota came from behind to defeat the Stars 2-1, NHL.com reports.

The Wild have now won their last two games in Stars territory; maybe it's the start of a winning streak.

Mikael Granlund scored what turned out to be the winning goal 40 seconds into the third period when Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen stopped a shot from Charlie Coyle and Granlund beat the goalie to the rebound puck to score.

"Charlie (Coyle) had a real good shot there, and it came out, popped out from the back. It was like an empty net," Granlund said after the game, according to NHL.com.

The teams went scoreless in the first period, and Dallas got on the board first in the second on a goal by Antoine Roussel.

The Wild took advantage of a Dallas turnover in the Minnesota zone to tie the game late in the second, when Erik Haula scored his second of the season, according to the Associated Press.

Darcy Kuemper stopped 23 of 24 shots for the Wild.

Minnesota (9-7-0) won its second straight game following a four-game losing streak.

The Wild will host the Winnipeg Jets Sunday.
