Wild dethrone Kings in shootout, 4-3


The Wild beat the defending champion Los Angeles Saturday night at Xcel Energy Center in a shootout, where Minnesota scored 3 of 3 goals to win it.

Zach Parise scored a goal and a shootout goal. Mikko Koivu and Matt Cullen also scored in the shootout. Watch video below.

Jonathan Quick, last year’s Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the playoff MVP, made 25 saves, while Niklas Backstrom made 28 and one more in the shootout.

After Dallas ended the Wild's seven-game winning streak Friday night, the Wild fought back to take the top spot in the Northwest Division, the Star Tribune reports.
