The first few days of free agency are always busy ones, but across the Minnesota sports landscape they've been especially so this year.

The Wolves made their moves and today it was the Wild's turn. Here's a roundup of what happened, most moves came within an hour of each other, starting with the most recent event.

Matt Cullen signs with Predators: It was a tough day for him, but I imagine the contract will take a little bit of the sting off.

Jared Spurgeon back as Wild defenseman: He'll get $2.66 million per year according to Michael Russo.

Wild great Pierre Marc-Bouchard signs one year deal with Islanders: He is second in games played in Wild history and third in points.

Keith Ballard is your newest member of the Wild, and only signing outside of re-upping players. It's a two-year, three million dollar deal. That looks like all the moving and shaking the Wild will do because money is tight, according to Wild GM Chuck Fletcher.

A fun way to keep the sports river flowing in these slow and monotonous times.
