The Minnesota Wild lost to the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in preseason action Tuesday night. Marek Zidlicky, Mikko Koivu, and Brett Bulmer scored for the Wild. Minnesota has two preseason games remaining - at Columbus on Thursday before hosting Edmonton on Friday.

Wild fall to 3-3 in preseason play

The Minnesota Wild lost to the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-2 Thursday night. Guillaume Latendresse and Mikko Koivu scored for the Wild, who fell to 3-3 in preseason play. Minnesota closes out the exhibition schedule Friday night when they host Edmonton.

Wild lose to Blue Jackets, 3-1

Minnesota (25-22-8) dropped its fourth straight game Saturday night, losing to the NHL-worst Blue Jackets for the second time in the past five days. Columbus (16-33-6) claimed the 3-1 victory over the Wild in St. Paul. Minnesota will continue their four-game home-stand against the Ducks on Tuesday.

Preview: Wild vs. Blues

The Wild (22-16-6) will meetup with the Blues (25-12-6) on the road Saturday night. Minnesota continued to struggle Thursday losing 5-2 to the Blackhawks. The Wild are now 2-9-3 in their last 14 games. St. Louis also lost on home ice Thursday to Vancouver in overtime. However, that was just the second loss for the Blues in 11 homes games. Minnesota beat St. Louis twice at the Xcel in November.

Season opener: Wild face-off with Blue Jackets

The Minnesota Wild open the 2011-12 season Saturday night at home against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Analysts throughout the NHL believe the Wild will be a fringe playoff team. Locally, the fans are hoping a new and improved offense will lead the team back to the postseason.

Koivu still out as Wild face Blue Jackets

Wild coach Mike Yeo tells the Star Tribune he’ll keep Mikko Koivu out of the lineup tonight in Columbus. Koivu is recovering from a shoulder injury. Yeo says Koivu is “very close” to returning, but no quite yet. His return might come as early as Thursday’s game against Vancouver.

Heatley and Setoguchi expected to play Friday

Newcomers Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi are expected to make their Minnesota debuts Friday night when the Wild play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Before then, rookie first-round pick Zach Phillips will play in the Wild's second preseason game, Thursday night against St. Louis.

Wild's Parise, Suter headline charity game

Despite the NHL lockout, Minnesota hockey fans will have a chance to see their Wild favorites Zach Parise and Ryan Suter in action. The pair will headline a charity game to benefit Defending the Blue Line on Oct 28. A host of other players are also expected to play like the Wild's Mikko Koivu and Cal Clutterbuck.
