The Wild set a team record, scoring six goals in the third period of their 6-2 win over the Dallas Stars Sunday night at the Xcel Energy Center.

Zach Parise scored two of those goals to help the Wild get into playoff contention for the first time since late November, according to the Associated Press.

Mikko Koivu, Stephane Veilleux, Matt Dumba and Mikael Granlund also had goals for the Wild in what was the highest-scoring period in franchise history.

Goalie Devan Dubnyk finished with 18 saves to improve to 13-2-1 with Minnesota.

Minnesota (31-21-7) has won three straight games and moved into the second wild-card position in the Western Conference for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, NHL.com reports. The Wild are 11-1-1 since the All-Star break.

The Wild hosts the Oilers on Thursday.
