The Wild placed defenseman Mike Lundin on injured reserve with a lower body injury and recalled Chad Rau from the Houston Aeros on Sunday. Rau made an immediate impact with the Wild, scoring a second period goal against Boston.

The Minnesota Wild extended qualifying offers to eight players Monday, including Chay Genoway, David McIntyre, Nick Palmieri, Jarod Palmer, Justin Falk and Carson McMillan. Meanwhile, the team didn't extend an offer to Guillaume Latendresse, although they are trying to sign him.

The Wild called up four players from the Houston Aeros today. Forwards Matt Kassian, Jed Ortmeyer, Chad Rau and defenseman Nate Prosser will join the team for Saturday's game against Dallas. Head coach Mike Yeo says, "We're not just going to stand around and hope things get better."

Wild winger Guillaume Latendresse says he will be a free agent as of Sunday. He tells the Star Tribune he hopes to sign with a team that will allow him to be closer to his 4-year-old son, who lives in Montreal. Latendresse played just 16 games in an injury-filled season last year.

Wild forward Guillaume Latendresse was back at practice Wednesday after missing one game and three practices because of a groin injury. He'll be available for Mike Yeo to insert into the lineup Thursday against Anaheim.

With Mikko Koivu expected to miss four to six weeks with a separated shoulder, the Minnesota Wild recalled forward Carson McMillan from Houston on Monday. The team also reassigned goaltender Matt Hackett back to the Aeros.

The Wild could be short-handed Saturday afternoon against the Vancouver Canucks. Mikko Koivu, Guillaume Latendresse, and Greg Zanon are questionable for the game. Koivu needed ten stitches after taking a skate to the chin Thursday against Edmonton.
