Wild top prospect Luke Kunin suffers torn ACL
Less than a week after the Wild made multiple roster moves to make room for top prospect Luke Kunin, the 2016 first-round pick suffered a season-ending torn ACL.
Kunin tore the ACL in his left knee during the Wild's 4-1 win over the Red Wings on Sunday. It's expected that he'll be out for around seven months.
The 20-year-old former Wisconsin Badgers captain was recalled by the Wild on Feb. 27, shortly after Minnesota waived veteran forward Chris Stewart.
With Kunin injured, the Wild are down to 12 healthy forwards on the roster, so it's a decent bet that they give Kyle Rau, Zack Mitchell or Sam Anas a call up from the AHL's Iowa Wild.
As the Pioneer Press notes, the Wild are also hoping to sign forward Jordan Greenway once his season at Boston University comes to an end. Greenway was one of Team USA's best players during the Olympics.
