Mikko Koivu got the scoring started in the first-period with his ninth goal of the season. The Wild then pulled away with three-goals in the second-period, and held off Edmonton in the final moments for the win.

Hackett, Wild defeat Sharks, 2-1

The Wild's 2-1 victory in San Jose wasn't easy Tuesday night. Starting goaltender Josh Harding left the game with an injury, forcing Matt Hackett into his NHL debut. Hackett responded by stopping all 34 shots he faced for the win. Mikko Koivu and Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored for Minnesota.

The Wild could have easily folded after going down 2-0 to the Blackhawks a night after losing a hard-fought game in Winnipeg, but rallied twice and earned one point in a 4-3 shootout loss to Chicago. Kyle Brodziak, Matt Cullen and Mikko Koivu scored for Minnesota.
