Wolves forward Bjelica to sit out upcoming road trip with foot strain

It looks like the Minnesota Timberwolves will be without another one of their players for at least their upcoming three-game road trip.

The Timberwolves announced Monday that they'll be without forward Nemanja Bjelica for the team's road trip to Toronto, New Orleans and Dallas.

The team says an MRI on Bjelica's sore foot revealed a foot strain. The team says Bjelica will travel, but won't play on the trip as he'll be slowly introduced to basketball activities as tolerated.

Including Monday night's game against Boston, Bjelica has already missed three games because of the injury. He returned from the All Star Break on crutches last week after injuring the foot while working out in California over the break.

He has been averaging 4.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game through 46 games this year in his first season with the Wolves.

Bjelica's injury puts him on the shelf with Kevin Garnett and Nikola Pekovic – both are sitting out with leg injuries/soreness.

He signed with the Wolves in the offseason, five years after the team acquired his rights during a trade in the 2010 NBA Draft.
