Wolves' 'Iron 9' battle Bobcats

Andrei Kirilenko -- and what’s left of the depleted Timberwolves roster -- take on Charlotte tonightat Target Center.

The Star Tribune reports Minnesota will have just nine players on the bench, with Brandon Roy (knee) , J.J. Barea (foot sprain) and Nikola Pekovic (ankle) all unavailable.

Even with all the injuries..the Wolves are off to a 5-2 start.

Kirilenko and three other Wolves, meanwhile, are on the NBA All-Star ballot. He’s joined by injured Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and Pekovic. The starters will be announced in mid-January, with the game set for February 17 in Houston.

The Timberwolves snapped a four game losing streak with a 102-90 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night. It’s Charlotte’s 16th straight loss. Kevin Love led Minnesota with 30 points and 18 rebounds. Nikola Pekovic added a double-double of his own, scoring 21 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
